THE ASHLAND COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE IS SEEKING EXPERIENCED AND QUALIFIED INDIVIDUALS FOR THE POSITION OF DETECTIVE. THE AGENCIES "DETECTIVE" IS A DEPUTY SHERIFF PRIMARILY ASSIGNED TO NARCOTICS INVESTIGATIONS WITH OTHER SPECIFIC TASKS DIRECTLY RELATED TO MAJOR CRIMINAL INVESTIGATIONS, UNLESS ASSIGNED ADDITIONAL TASKS BY A SUPERVISOR. THE "POSITION" IS NON-SUPERVISORY IN NATURE BUT MAY ASSUME COMMAND WHEN MANAGING A CRIME SCENE. THE DETECTIVE'S IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR IS THE INVESTIGATOR SERGEANT. A DEPUTY SHERIFF IS ASSIGNED TO FIELD DUTY WHICH CONSISTS OF BOTH ROUTINE AND COMPLEX LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES.  GENERAL JOB FUNCTIONS INCLUDE REPORTING AND DOCUMENTATION, PRESERVATION OF SAFETY, AND PEACE AND SECURITY.  THE EMPLOYEE NORMALLY WORKS INDEPENDENTLY WHICH NECESSITATES A HIGH DEGREE OF SELF-DISCIPLINE, INTEGRITY AND DECISION-MAKING ABILITY. Hiring for Food Service Worker

The Ashland County Sheriff’s Office is seeking a part-time food service worker to perform kitchen related duties at the Ashland County Jail.  The starting wage is $19.11 / hour, and are expected to work 30-40 hrs/week.  Wage study has implemented increases.  Upon receiving 1,500 hours, an employee may qualify for health/dental insurance.   Upon meeting 1,200 hours, an employee can received WI retirement pension benefits.  Inmate's will not be working with employee's, unless otherwise approved.  

 

Qualifications: Must be 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen. Must be able to perform tasks quickly and effectively.  Individuals with felony convictions will not be considered. A background check and drug test is mandatory.

REASON FOR ANNOUNCEMENT: FILL FULL TIME & PART TIME VACANCIES
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • This position is to perform a wide variety of responsible duties under the supervision of the Director of Public Safety Communications, Chief Deputy and Sheriff.
  • Shift responsibilities include operation of radio, telephone, and computer equipment at the County emergency 911 center.
  • 911 Dispatchers receive reports from the public of crimes, disturbances, fires, and medical or police emergencies.
  • They relay information to law enforcement and emergency response personnel.
  • 911 Dispatchers may maintain contact with callers until responders arrive. 911 Dispatcher will have many other duties and responsibilities as assigned and qualified.
HOURLY WAGE: $17.51 WHILE TRAINING, $21.89 PER HOUR UPON COMPLETION
