County Clerk
The Ashland County Clerk is a Constitutional Officer elected every four years by the voters of Ashland County. The County Clerk is the chief election official and conducts all federal, state, county, local and school elections. In addition, the County Clerk acts as the secretary and official record keeper of the County Board.
DUTIES/SERVICES
Election Administration
- Filing officer for County candidates
- Publish election notices
- Layout/printing/delivery of ballots and supplies to municipal clerks
- Election equipment programming
- Wisconsin Voter Registration System - WisVote
- Election night results and reporting
- Conduct Board of Canvass and recounts

- Recording Secretary
- Prepare/publish agenda and minutes
- Committee meeting agendas/packets
- Publish official proceedings
- Maintain records
- Compile/publish/maintain county directory
- Sign contracts/agreements as approved by the County Board

- Assist Administration with annual budget
- Tax apportionment
- General accounting
- Payroll
- Prepare quarterly 941 reports to IRS
- Prepare and distribute W-2's and 1099's and related reports to State and Federal entities
- Prepare and distribute employee materials for new hires
- Assist with annual Audit
- GASB reporting
- Asset inventory

- Distribute dog license/supplies to municipal treasurers
