Geographic Information Systems (GIS)

The GIS department is tasked with collaborating with all departments to gather and share quality up-to-date data within the county and to the public. This data includes tax parcel information, roads, addresses, buildings, elevations, zoning, floodplains, fire districts, ems districts, voting wards, and many others.

GIS is most commonly used to map spatial data, but can also be used to store, view, and analyze non-spatial data. Geographic Information Systems can quickly retrieve data to then create maps, charts, or reports.

The department is excited to offer specialized skills to maintain and create new applications for Ashland County. Please let us know of your projects or questions relating to GIS.
