Groundwater and Well Testing Program
Ashland County, in coordination with the UW Stevens Point Center for Watershed Science and Education, has implemented a new groundwater testing program for landowners in 2022. Testing private wells eases uncertainty about possible contamination from land use activities or outdated plumbing and is highly suggested to retest each year to ensure safe drinking water for you and your family.
Our goals are to:
- Provide a convenient opportunity for Ashland County residents to have their water tested;
- Learn more about local groundwater quality;
- Educate residents on groundwater movement, contamination, and practices to improve and protect groundwater quality.

Ashland County will provide groundwater sampling annually at a reduced rate for homeowners. More information on groundwater testing is listed below:
