Land Description
Within the Land Description office is the Real Property Lister (RPL). The RPL functions as a liaison between local officials, other county offices, and state offices regarding land, property values, and taxes as well as a point of contact for the public to ask land related questions.
Information available from the Land Description office includes accurate legal descriptions, ownership records, parcel numbers, addresses, real estate transfer information, property values, acreage, taxation district information, property surveys, and parcel maps. This information is derived from a number of sources including documents from the Register of Deeds, the Departments of Revenue and Natural Resources, Assessors, Surveyors, and Municipal Clerks.
For inquiries regarding building information (size, square footage, year built, number of rooms), please contact your municipality's assessor. A list of assessors and their contact information can be found under the Assessment Information subsection below.
